Flat commercial roofs, residential shingle roofs, and roof penetrations in pre-1990 construction across Massachusetts.
When and why
Asbestos was widely used in roofing products through the 1980s. Newer overlays often conceal older asbestos-containing layers underneath.
How it's tested
Targeted samples are collected from each roofing layer and associated mastic, double-bagged, and analyzed by PLM with point counting where indicated.
